Two British brands, Sanderson and Emma Bridgewater, have come together to produce a stunning range of furnishing fabrics and wallpapers, that captures the essence of Emma Bridgewater, with a warm-hearted, cheerfully informal style that really “feels like home”.
The collection of 10 fabrics and 7 wallpapers shows off the hand- crafted essence of pottery, with the print mark of the sponge obvious in almost all of the designs. Most of the range comes from originals of Emma Bridgewater pottery with some, like the Coral and Fig, being very early designs and others like the Pomegranate being more recent. The patterns have been chosen to work together as a collection, as well as keeping in mind what would work best on fabrics and wallpapers rather than pottery.
The “Dresser” is the exciting statement design at the heart of this collection, and it is a stunning new pattern by Sanderson with Emma Bridgewater produced just for this range. It is very much inspired by Emma Bridgewater’s own dresser in her kitchen at home, which is filled with pieces from her own pottery as well family treasures passed on to her.
Emma Bridgewater was founded in 1985 by Emma Bridgewater herself, who is now a very well-known British ceramics designer. The Emma Bridgewater factory produces designs by Emma and her husband Matthew, inspired by their family traditions and everyday life with their children.
All fabrics are suitable for curtaining and upholstery, and have been printed on unbleached cotton to reflect the natural earthen colouring of clay used in pottery. This range of predominantly mid-scale, fun and versatile patterns in easy to combine colour sets, makes it simple to create welcoming interiors for all of the family to relax in and enjoy.
